- About CEC
CEC's approach to performing remedial action design is first to determine that the most cost-effective remediation technologies are being applied to mitigate the hazard, and then implement the design, while allowing for feedback from the client and regulatory agencies at various stages of completion.
Following site investigations, CEC successfully develops practical and cost-effective remedial alternatives, negotiates these corrective measures with regulatory agencies, and implements these measures where necessary.
Our services include:
- Development and evaluation of corrective action alternatives
- Risk assessment
- Monitoring and post-closure monitoring and care
- Design/build services
- Construction oversight
CEC has successfully completed over 50 detailed evaluations of remedial alternatives, including Corrective Measures Studies at RCRA and Superfund sites. We also has extensive experience in completion of detailed remedial designs for complex environmental projects, such as those involved with RCRA and CERCLA sites. These efforts have included conceptual design, detailed design, development of construction specifications, waste treatment management, and site closure certification.
We feel that contamination should generally be treated at the site whenever possible to minimize the risks and costs associated with handling and transporting hazardous wastes. How this contamination is treated depends on the nature of the materials, site characteristics, and regulatory permitting requirements, all of which can make one remedial alternative more effective and practical than another.
CEC's approach to performing remedial action design is first to determine that the most cost-effective remediation technologies are being applied to mitigate the hazard, and then implement the design, while allowing for feedback from the client and/or regulatory agencies at various stages of completion.
On more than one occasion, we have been asked to evaluate a remedial design developed by another consultant and were able to convince the Agency that we could do it better and cheaper. These reviews can result in savings to our clients of tens of millions of dollars.
